The Franklin County Junior Varsity softball team got the season started on Thursday evening, but didn’t get the result they wanted. The Wildcats fell to the Braves by a final score of 4-0 in a game shortened to three innings due to darkness (Talawanda High School Softball did not have lights).
Bree Bischoff did the pitching for the Wildcats in the circle. She went three innings allowing two hits, four runs (three earned), with three strikeouts.
The Wildcats were led on offense by Hadlee Hornsby who had the lone Wildcat hit in the game. She drove a 2-1 pitch to right field in the first inning to get the game started for the Wildcats. Sarah Bare, Shaden Galyen, and Anne Becker also reached base via walk for the Wildcats.
Franklin County’s JV (0-1) will be back in action on Wednesday evening for a matchup with the Centerville High School Bulldogs. The junior varsity contest will begin immediately following the varsity game. Hope to see you at the game!
