The Franklin County girls cross country team placed 5th out of 10 teams at the Greensburg Invitational. Junior, Katelyn Meyer, was the top finisher for Franklin County. She placed 26th with a time of 23:13. Senior, Taylor Stewart, was close behind with a time of 23:34. She placed 30th. Since there were no competitors nearby, Junior, Helena Goustis, and Freshman, Katherine Apsley, battled it out for 40th and 41st place. Helena just edged Katherine out by 0.45 seconds to get the 40th spot. Junior, Kairee Hodapp, always seems to have to battle for her spot at the finish with a huge sprint effort. She was overtaken by Kayla Hancock, of Greensburg and finished in 38th place. The girls’ number 2 through 5 top runners on the team really made the difference on the girls recent 5th place wins in both the conference and this invitational.
