The Lady Wildcats secured their first season win against the Rising Sun Shriners. The first half of the game started off a bit flat and a disorganized attack resulting in a 1-1 tie at half time. The focus for the second half was to pass and move the ball more and to play simple and composed in the final third. Passing the ball more proved to be the key to scoring because within 2 minutes the Lady Wildcats were up 3-1 and added 3 more goals to finish the game 6-1.
The offensive breakdown:
Jordan Nichols – 2 goals and 1 assist
Grace Noble – 2 goals
Adrienne Bundy – 1 goal and 1 assist
Jaime Stortz – 1 goal
Brylee Pace – 2 assists
Grace Kruthhaupt – 1 assist
Midfielders Kamryn Dozier, Kloe Bolos, Halee Barker, Bethan Melugin, Morgan Stewart and Kaylin Knapp all played well feeding the attack and assisting on defense.
The defense held up well disarming the Shriner’s attack. Claudia Mauntel, Laura Edwards, Adrienne Bundy, Taylee Contrad, Erica Weaver, Paige Hall and Dani Bulach held the Shriners to a single goal on the evening.
Karlie Hahn added 4 saves to her record still sitting at the top of the league Leader Board with 21. Erica Weaver also recorded a save on the night.
The morale of the story is that we can do more with teamwork and passing. This is needed as we take on New Castle in our first home game next Tuesday,
