Early Lead For East Central Seals Fate For Franklin County Wildcats JV
Franklin County Wildcats JV fell behind early and couldn’t come back in an 18-5 loss to East Central on Tuesday. The Wildcats record falls to 2-3 on the year and 1-2 in EIAC play.
East Central scored on a home run by Towe, a single by Schnell, a groundout by Ertle, a walk by Green, and a home run by Towe in the first inning.
The Franklin County Wildcats JV struggled to contain the high-powered offense of East Central, giving up 18 runs.
East Central scored ten runs in the second inning. The big inning for East Central came thanks to doubles by Schnell, Engle, and Wittch, walks by Duncan and Earhart, a single by Green, and a home run by Schnell.
Schnell earned the victory on the pitcher’s mound for East Central. She went four and two-thirds innings, allowing three runs on five hits, striking out five and walking zero.
Sarah Bare took the loss for Franklin County Wildcats JV. She surrendered 11 runs on six hits over one inning.
Franklin County Wildcats JV tallied seven hits in the game. Makaylee Woods, Karlie Hahn, and Morgan Bare all had multiple hits for Franklin County Wildcats JV. Woods went 3-for-3 at the plate to lead Franklin County Wildcats JV in hits.
East Central saw the ball well today, racking up 11 hits in the game. Schnell, Engle, Cummings, and Towe each managed multiple hits for East Central. Schnell led East Central with three hits in four at bats.
The junior varsity will be back in action tomorrow night for a game at South Dearborn. The JV game will immediately follow the Varsity game.
