Girls Varsity Golf · Girls Golf is Runner-up at Conference

  Place Points
Franklin County High School 2nd 350

Despite many personal best scores and 4 players making the All-Conference team the FC Girls’ Golf Team finished runner-up in the EIAC Tournament. The tournament was rained out last Saturday and was rescheduled for 9 holes on Monday and the remaining 9 holes played Thursday. Our team fell behind after the first 9 holes by 17 shots. It’s a lot to make up in one night but we were optimistic. We definitely played better in our second 9 holes but were unable to catch the dominant Greensburg Pirates. They posted a great team score of 329 and FC’s seasons best team score of the season of 350 came up short.
Senior, Abby Orschell, tied for 2nd in the Conference tournament with her personal best score of 80. There were also 3 other players that posted personal best scores, (Gracie Graf 90, Camryn Brewer 94, and Ashlan Hill 95).
4 of FC’s players made the All-Conference Team – Abby Orschell, Maggie Brack, Gracie Graf, and Camryn Brewer. Ashlan Hill came up one shot short of making the All-Conference team.
“If somebody told me before the tournament started that we would shoot a team score of 350 and come in 2nd place I would have told them they were crazy! We played well and did post our low round of the season. We have nothing to be disappointed about. I’m proud of the girls and hope this boosts there confidence enough to post another great score at our Sectional tournament this Saturday.”
The Sectional tournament is be played this Saturday, September 15 at The Elks in Richmond. All teams will tee off at 9am.
