The Franklin County Varsity boys cross country team fell just short of advancing to Regionals as a team. The top 5 teams advance, and Franklin County placed 6th by 11 points. That’s a difference of only seconds between runners. The top three finishers for Franklin County were only separated by 29 seconds. Junior, Drew Grant, finished in 20th place, receiving a ribbon, with a time of 18:49. Sophomore, Ben Maze, finished in 27th place with a time of 19:04, and he will advance to regionals. The biggest finish from Franklin County, came from sophomore, Adam Grant. He had a huge career personal best of 19:18. Adam’s previous PR was 19:48, and he achieved that last year. He surpassed his PR on Connersville’s tough course which is very difficult to do. Senior, Kyle Seibert, ran a great final race with a time of 19:31, but just missed a regional spot by 3 places. Freshman, Hunter Marshall, ran a solid race with a time of 19:41. Freshman, Harmon Marshall, crossed the line with a time of 20:00 even. Senior, Harvey Marshall, ran his final high school cross country race as he battled an injury, and still was able to finish with a time of 23:41. Although, the season ends for part of the team, Drew, Ben, and Adam will be gearing up for regionals.
