Franklin County Varsity Basketball teams gets a conference win Friday night against Connersville at the Spartan Bowl. It was a tough back and forth battle all night. Connersville had the biggest lead in the game when they were up 24-12 in the first half. Freshman Brant Ertel went on an individual 9-0 run making three straight three pointers. After that the Wildcats were always in striking distance. The Wildcats eventually took the lead on two different occasion before getting the lead down the stretch and keeping it. It was not easy hanging on to the lead. The Wildcats and the Spartans both missed a lot of key free throws down the stretch to keep the lead at 1 for the Wildcats before the Wildcats were finally able to sink one. It was a great game to lead into our last regular season game of the year against Richmond at home. Then it will be on to tournament time.
The Wildcats were led by Freshman Brant Ertel with 20 points.
Senior Drew Dixon had 12 points.
Sophomore Chad Cox had 10 points.
Sophomores Bridger Bolos and JD Stokes each had 2 points.
