The Franklin County Boys pushed through their previous personal bests to set new personal bests at the South Dearborn Invitational on Saturday, September 6th. Freshman, Drew Grant, had a huge PR for the 2nd weekin a row. He dropped his time from 19:55 to 18:46. Evan Apsley was the top finisher for Franklin County with his season’s best time of 18:23. This time was 11 seconds off of his all time best and earned him 15th place. Senior, Cody Moore, has stayed consistent with his time of 18:34. He placed 17th. Sophomores, Tanner Lainhart, Cole Klusman and Kyle Seibert all set career personal records. Senior, Hunter Mayfield, stayed consistent with his time and just missed another PR by 5 seconds. With their solid, faster times, the Wildcats placed 5th, narrowly missing 4th place by 5 points.

Meet Recap

The South Dearborn cross country invitational on Saturday, September 16th, was a meet full of personal records for the Wildcat girls cross country team. Freshman, Lauren Kelley, placed 7th, and her time of 20:37, broke Franklin County’s cross country record for the girls. The previous record was 20:49, set by Ashley Harnishfiger in 2012. Junior, Taylor Stewart was the 2nd fasted runner for FC. Seniors, Navalynne Beck and Kat Putnick set personal records, as well as sophomores, Kairee Hodapp and Devyn Kerr. Freshman, Josie Selm set another personal record with a time of 25:20. She has lowered her time by more than 6 minutes this season. The Lady Wildcat runners are defininitely moving in the right direction this season.

Tonight, September 15th, the Franklin County Football Team will travel to Lawrenceburg High School for a big conference game against the Tigers. The Wildcats are currently 3-1, with wins against New Castle, Connersville, and Rushville, and their only loss coming at the hands of East Central High School last week. The Tigers are sitting at 3-1 as well, with their wins coming against Taylor, Milan, and Greensburg, and their only loss also coming at the hands of East Central in week one of the regular season.

The theme for the Bleacher Bums tonight is jersey night, so find your best jersey and come out ready to support the FC Football Team to a victory!

Game Recap

Franklin County and Richmond kicked off Thursday night in a heated match that volleyed back and forth for 80 minutes. Richmond scored first and held the lead going into the second half. Gabbi Mitchum for the Wildcats tied the score 16 minutes into the second period. The battling continued until just under 10 in the game , Richmond sent a nearly half field rocket into the left corner of the goal to take the lead. Franklin County had multiple attempts and battled till the end but ended up short with Richmond winning 2:1.

It was a great night for volleyball. Lilli Stewart and Sydney Graf had 4 kills each. Anna Sacksteder added 2 kills. Sydney Graf and Kaylynn Rauch had 2 ace serves each. The level of play in this JV team has risen and they are ready to take the rest of this season to a whole new level!! We will host Union County Monday, Sept. 18th at 6. The freshman Lady Wildcats played a great game tonight beating the Connersville Lady Spartans in two sets! The team played great together and it is great seeing them grow! Rae Ertel led the team in aces with 4 followed my Kloe Bolos with 3. Abby Mitchum led them team in aces with 4! I’m so proud of this freshman team! We have our EIAC conference tournament next Saturday, September 23 at South Dearborn!

What an exciting and outstanding win for the Lady Wildcats tonight. The team came together and played a great match. Kamryn McCool hit the ball very well tonight having 15 kills and adding 1 ace serve, 4 digs, and 1 block. Meredith Bohman had 8 kills. Kaitlyn Obert added 5 kills. Autumn McDaniel had 20 digs. Jenna Orschell added 2 ace serves and 4 digs. The girls will hit the gym for practice tomorrow before having 3 matches next week. Thanks to all the youth that came out to support the team. You are the future of FC volleyball!

Meet Recap

The Lady Wildcats ended their regular season undefeated! They travelled to Liberty Country Club to take on Union County and Connersville. Dana Branstetter was able to shoot a score of 39 and claim medallist honors once again.
“I’m so proud and excited for this team. We were able to beat two solid teams tonight and remain undefeated on the season. Dana was able to claim medallist honors which also made her undefeated in dual meets on the season. This team has a lot to be proud of and I can’t wait to see what they do in the post-season.”
