Meet Recap

The Franklin County Lady Wildcat cross country team ended their season at the Shelbyville Semi-State competition on Saturday, October 21st. Although they will not continue onto the state competition, this meet was full of achievements and personal bests for this team. This meet was the best team showing for Franklin County this season. The highlight of the meet was freshman, Lauren Kelley’s, finish of 19:11. This time crushed the previous school record of 20:31 that was set by her the week prior at the Rushville regionals. She placed 42nd out of 182 competitors. Senior Kat Putnick also trampled the PR she set at regionals the week prior. She went from a 24:44 to a 23:42. This was a career personal best for her. Freshman, Josie Selm, continued this trend and smashed her PR that was set at regionals by going from a 24:59 to a 23:49. Senior, Novalynne Beck, had a career personal best on her last cross country meet as a Wildcat, with a time of 24:30, and Junior, Taylor Stewart continued the trend with her best time of 22:36. Sophomores, Kairee Hodapp and Katelyn Meyer had strong consistent performances that were not quite personal bests, but were faster than their regional times. The Franklin County team is proud of what they’ve accomplished this year. The semi-state competition was a great way to end their season!
