Game Recap

The FC Lady Wildcat Junior Varsity softball team improved their record to 5-2 with a 15-3, 5 inning (due to 10 run rule) matchup at Switzerland County Friday night. Though stats prove a large run-hit discrepancy, this was due to Swizterland County’s wild pitching (9 walks and 6 hit-by-pitches) and 4 error performance on defense. These statistics do not take away from FC’s patient at the plate, aggressive on the base-path and efficient on defense approach.

Casey Wright collected 2 runs scored, 2 stolen bases, 2 walks and one HBP, Bricget Raible provided 2 runs scored, 2 hits, 2 RBIs, and two stolen bases, Maggie Wendel accumulated 3 runs scored, 1 double and 3 stolen bases, Kendall McCool accrued 1 run scored, 1 double, 1 walk, 2 RBIs and 1 stolen base, Gabby Mitchem reached base on all four of her appearance, only seeing 9 total pitches and not swinging the bat once (thanks to 3 HBP’s and 1 walk…way to take a few for the team Gabby!!!), 3 stolen bases and an RBI, Bailee Minnich provided 1 walk and 1 stolen base, Erika Logan contributed 2 walks, 2 runs scored, 2 stolen bases and an RBI, Tessa Harper got 2 walks and a single, Alexis Hamilton was hit by a pitch, scored a run and contributed an RBI and Ashlee Minnich contributed a walk, an RBI and a run scored.

As usual, Kendall McCool was sharp in the circle with 9 strikeouts (1 looking) while allowing 3 runs and six hits over 5 innings.

Overall, another impressive, tough performance by the FC JV Lady ‘Cats. Their next action is at Lawrenceburg, Monday. Go Cats!!!!!
