Game Recap

Kamryn McCool’s two-hit, 12 strikeout performance on the mound spurred Franklin County to a road win at Milan on Thursday. Brooke Otto did the damage with her bat for the Cats, knocking in 5 runs, including a 6th inning grand slam. Courtney Steele scored twice and batted in 2 as well for the Wildcats. Hannah Hornsby and Sam Mason each had a single and a double in the contest. For Milan, Alex Dixon provided the offense with a 4th inning lead-off homerun. Milan had 4 other baserunners in the contest…a 5th inning single by Abby Yelton, who also walked earlier in the game, a leadoff walk by Kiera Hall in the 3rd, and a HBP that placed Morgan Widener on 1st in the 4th. None of these runners advanced past second as Franklin County’s timely defense and ace pitching lead the way. Franklin County is back in action tomorrow at Switzerland County.
