Meet Recap

On Tuesday, the Franklin County boys tennis team took the courts at Richmond High School for the fifth straight year in the Regional semifinals. The Cats took the regular season meeting 3-2 for their first win against the Bulldogs since 1989, the school’s first year. However, the Cats were unable to make it 2 in a row as they fell 1-4. At #3 singles, Austin Arrasmith fell 0-6, 0-6. Then, Trevor Murray was next off of the court at #2 singles falling 6-7(6-8), 0-6. Then, Landon Bundy fell at #1 singles 4-6, 0-6. This ended the game match for the Wildcats. At #2 doubles, Dillon Lewis and Kurt Oetzel fell 2-6, 3-6. However, there was one lone bright spot for the Cats. The #1 doubles team of Dylan Little and Braydon Ertel was able to get the 6-1, 6-0 victory over Batesville to continue their outstanding year and continue in the individual tournament. They will play the winer of the Knightstown vs. Tri doubles match on Thursday at 4:30. Good luck to Braydon and Dylan. For the remaining seniors, Dillon Lewis, Trevor Murray, and Landon Bundy, thank you very much for the outstanding careers you have given Franklin County High School.
