Game Recap

On Thursday, October 6th 2016 the Franklin County High School Girl’s Varsity Soccer Team played a phenomenal game against the New Castle Knights at Richmond High School. In the first half, Gabby Mitchum scored a great goal with 38:00 minutes on the clock. In the second half, Shelby Pearson scored a goal off of a beautiful corner kick. However, in the second half New Castle came back and scored 2 goals, tying the game. FCHS and New Castle went into two rounds of overtime, each lasting 7 minutes. No goals were scored.

Finally, both teams faced off in a penalty kick shootout for the win. New Castle barely managed a victory by making 5 out of 7 penalty kicks, and FC making only 4 out of 7.

Apart from a devastating loss, the ladies played their hearts out. They played with passion, purpose, and persistence from start to finish. It was a successful season Lady Cat’s and you should leave the 2016 soccer season feeling accomplished and proud to be participating in the FC Soccer Program. Thank you for all your hard work!
